On February 20-23, 2026, the 34th Conference of the Association of Mathematics Teachers was held in Białystok.
Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Białystok played a significant role in the Conference.
February 20 was the plenary day of the Conference. The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Dr. Alina Dobrogowska, Prof. UwB, gave the inaugural lecture entitled “Mathematics as a way of understanding the world” while Dr. Anna Rybak opened the afternoon session with a lecture entitled “Can a student be the perpetrator in their own mathematical education process?”
On Saturday, February 21, some of the classes dedicated to Conference participants were held at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Białystok on the university campus.
And so:
From 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in room 2048, Dr. Anna Rybak gave a lecture entitled “How to teach arithmetic and algebra so that computational exercises are interesting for students?”
From 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the participants were divided into two groups. One group listened to a lecture by Dr. Tomasz Czyżycki in room 2048 on “How to talk to students about infinity?”, while the other group participated in a workshop in room 3011 entitled “Game theory for students” led by Dr. Karol Pryszczepko.
